General Overview

Nantong Langshan Scenic Spot is a provincial scenic area in Jiangsu and a national AAAA-level tourist area. It is located on the east coast of Yangtze River, six kilometers south of Nantong City. It is composed of five mountains-- Junshan Mountain, Jianshan Mountain, Langshan Mountain, Ma’anshan Mountain, Huangnishan Mountain, with a total planning area of about 11.27 square kilometers. On the boundless plain by the river and sea, five mountains raise straight from the ground and lie imposingly at the riverside with graceful posture like five green emeralds inserted in the Yangtze River. It is the perfect combination of the "top landscape" and has the reputation of "Natural water bonsai".

Langshan Scenic Spot has beautiful natural scenery, rich cultural landscape and deep cultural heritage. Langshan is the Taoist temple for mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. As one of the Eight Famous Mountains of Buddhism in China, there are many cultural relics, temples and buildings. Featuring Buddhist culture, it is famous for its efficacy, with strong incense throughout the year and believers in a continuous line.

Horticultural Expo Park is built on the basis of the Ma’anshan Mountain and Huangnishan Mountain. With the theme of "landscape charm and Jianghai wind", it highly enriches the regional characteristics and the landscape of Nantong. It is the exquisite works of the garden art of Jiangsu Province and a perfect place to enjoy river view and gardens. Riverside Park in the area is a large and comprehensive open free park with landscape, leisure and participation.

Ho Park is the memorial garden of Zhang Jian, the Number One Scholar of the Imperial Exam in late Qing Dynasty, the modern national industrialist and educator. It is the national key cultural relic protection unit and the largest ornamental garden in Nantong. The ancient tree in the garden is towering and the environment is elegant.

Jianghai Folk Culture Expo Park is an eco-agricultural industrial park integrating folk custom, cultural leisure and tourism.

It was said that Junshan Mountain was place where the First Emperor of Qin stationed his troops, so it is also named the Military Mountain. The Putuo courtyard on the mountain worships the world's largest jade Avalokitesvara statue.

The Jianshan Mountain ridges as blade, looks like a horizontal sword, so it is also named the Sword Mountain. The Wenshu temple on the mountain worships Manjusri bodhisattva.

The exquisite combination of natural landscape and humanistic resources makes Langshan Scenic Spot become a bright pearl on the Jianghai plain.
