Yuantong Treasure Hall
The Yuantong TreasureHall was formerly the Hall of Sangha. In the early Qing Dynasty, it changed
thestatue of Avalokiteshvara, and was later renamed Yuwang Temple. It is now theHall of Universal
Understanding which was built to consecrate theMahasthamaprapta Buddhisattva. The Hall of Universal
Understanding is thesingle-eaves hilltop architecture with golden glazed tile. The
mahasthamapraptaBodhisattva is 4.5 meters high. The eighteen Arhats are in the wing-rooms oneither
side of the hall. The plaque of Yuantong Hall was inscribed by MasterZijue. There's an antithetical couplet written by Master Yumei, saying “Have nocares, far away from the dream;
bodhisattva, Prajna Paramita.”
