The Hall of Great Sage

The Hall of Faru was formerly the Main Shrine Hall, which was founded in 669. After the fire in Chenghua Time of Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt to the present pattern. President of The Buddhist Association of China Zhao Puchu wrote the plaque couplets for the Hall of Faru, which says:"The house is full of saints;all the Buddhist groups come to worship Buddha.”Master Juzan also wrote:"Mifu Mountain, the first mountain of China. Eighteen monks, with infinite charms.” There's a large plaque with "Put the palms together, as vast and great woods", which was inscribed by Zheng Banqiao, one of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou. The Plaque with "Remembering goodness" was inscribed by Wang Geyi, a calligrapher and painter of Nantong. A jade-made Sakyamuni portrait, presented by Taiwan believers, is enshrined in the church. There's a picture of "Eighteen monks in the history of Chinese Buddhism" between the niches of Ananda and Kasyapa, left and right side waiters. Eighteen eminent monks were selected by The Buddhist Association of China. Their ceramic paintings were made in Beijing by Fan Zeng, a painter from Nantong. This is the only place to worship the eighteen eminent monks in China.
